Commercial Fishing Industry

Western fisheries are some of the best managed and abundant in the world, and Fish Expo WorkBoat Northwest is the place where commercial fishermen, scientists and decision makers come together to discuss ways to keep it that way.

In 2001, fish landings in Pacific Coast Region equaled more than $1.2 billion. Alaska’s contribution to that total was $870 million, and, according to John Van Amerogeon, editor of Alaska Fisherman’s JOURNAL, “Alaska's North Pacific groundfish abundance is already at a high level - and increasing.”
